Calendar

Adjust your lawn care activities in accord to the grass growth. Roots and tops grow quickly during springs as the day is long, the temperature is cool and usually there is ample of moisture. On the other hand the growth is slow during summers due to lack of moisture and warmer temperatures. Depending open these growing trends try to adjust your lawn care practices on the following schedules.

Best time for seeding and sodding
The most ideal time of seeding and sodding is from Mid August to October first week. You can also seed your lawn from March to Mid Mays.

Fertilizing
Fertilize your lawn at least twice in a year. The first application also called as spring application is recommended from Mid February to Mid April. For the Fall application fertilize your lawn in three to four application from August to September.

Liming
The months of March, September and October are best times for liming your lawn.

Mowing
Mowing is the most crucial practice in lawn care. You need to mow your lawn almost through out the year except during the winter that is from December to February. Make sure that you mow at a proper height.

Watering
Proper irrigation is not only necessary for a healthy growth of the grass but to also prevent disease. Irrigate your lawn deeply only when required. Avoid irrigating deeply during winters or when you think it will rain. However maintain proper and calculated water supply from Mid March to Mid October.

Weed Control
Take weed control precautions especially from March to May and from August to October.
