Insulating materials: Thermal, electrical and sound insulators
Acrylic and Ceramic: It has a widespread use in the insulation especially, where toughness and transparency are required. Solvent cement is pretty useful for the insulation purposes. Ceramics also has good electrical and thermal insulating properties, which are used to fabricate insulators, components, and circuit boards. Glass: This is another insulation material available in a wide variety of forms including solid glass, fiber tapes, fiberglass sheets and mats. It is also available in woven tubing and cloth, and various composites. Mica: Mica sheets are used for electrical insulation, where thermal conductivity is high. Mica insulators are useful for heat-sinking transistors or other components with electrically conductors. Mica is mostly used in the composite tapes and sheets, to prevent flakes. Nylon: Nylon has good resistance to high voltages. Nylon is used in the variety of other materials to improve weathering and stiffness. It is also impact resistance, so this can be used in robust usages. Polyester: Polyester is a very tough material, which is mostly used in film sheets and tapes for graphic arts and electronics. Polyester is also used in the insulation of the car capacitors. PVC: Poly-vinyl-cloride or PVC is one of the most common insulating materials, mostly used in the house wiring. Irradiated PVC is resistance to heat, that is why it is used for the tapes and tubing. Tapes: Tapes can be made from many insulating materials. Vinyls tapes are mainly used for the insulation purposes of the wiring. The tapes are very convenient to use because adheres to the thing, which is insulted by it. Foams: it can be used both as thermal insulation and mechanical insulation. It can be called as a good insulator, because it is used as thermal, electrical and sound insulators. There are many other good insulators like silicon, laminates, rubber and many others.

Insulated Glass Insulated windows provide ideal insulation systems when the home does not have insulation installed at the time of construction or the homeowner only requires partial insulation in the living space of the house. Home insulation requires one or many... Insulation Insulation is a method by which a home or building can be protected from the extreme weather conditions. Providing insulation for any living space means the cold air from the outside is prevented from entering the interior and at the same time the... Metal Building Insulation A metal building such as one made from steel is among the strongest and most durable of all building constructions. However, despite all the good qualities associated with a metal building, it still faces some problems because of extreme weather... Polyurethane Foam Insulation Urethane or polyurethane as it is popularly known is a very good insulation material. It has high resistance to heat flow and is comparatively more waterproof than any other insulation material. Used as both spray insulation and in sheet form,... Rigid Insulation Often used to supplement the insulation in walls and ceilings, rigid insulation is available in a variety of thickness and sizes and is made from various materials. This kind of insulation stops the conduction of heat into the house and is quite... |
