Residential thermal distribution system for house cooling

Residential thermal distribution system implies to the method of distributing cooling though out the house. These systems mainly include systems that blow air through air and systems that use water such as radiant floors and systems that use electricity. Thermal distribution systems form the base of house cooling. Thermal distribution system distributes cool airs in house with help of ducts. One need to take various cares as the a few systems have the potential to waste a considerable amount of energy due to leaks in the ducts. The cooling effect due the ducts however depends on various factors and is mentioned below.

Factors affecting the duct efficiency

The temperature of the air or water entering the distribution system greatly determines the cooling effect. Similarly even the heat exchange efficiency due the air (or water) flow effects the cooling. On the other hand even the efficiency of the equipment fixed to the duct determines the output. Proper zoning is very important for better results.

How to enhance duct efficiency

For a better duct efficiency it is required to take proper measures for duct insulations. During summers if the ducts are located near the ceiling they can get heated thus affecting the cooling effect. In such cases insulations are very crucial. Leakages often affect the cooling effect, thus one need to first find the leaks. There is various duct leakage testing methods that help to find the leakages through which the air is passing away. These methods include house pressure test, the nulling pressure test, tracer gas, tracer gas and house pressurization and duct only test. Once the leakages are sealed significant amount of energy is saved ant better cooling can be achieved. For sealing the leakages special duct tapes are available.

For proper cooling of the house greatly depends on the way ducts are planned and located. Ducts are very important for better functioning of residential thermal distribution system. Thermal residential systems if maintained properly can save considerable mount of energy while conferring the best cooling effects. With residential thermal systems better cooling can be achieved very easily.
