Having a backyard laboratory - Fun and Learn

Children have a natural streak of curiosity among them. They are constantly brimming with innumerable questions and ideas about different matters. The best way to answer their questions is to encourage them to do things on their own. Parents can provide them with a play laboratory in the backyards of their homes where the children can learn to build and make things on their own.

Fun Labs

A laboratory is a place where simple experiments, tests and tasks can be carried out for learning purposes. A backyard laboratory for children can help them in learning easy concepts of physical science, natural world, day-to-day logic and do-it-yourself assignments. There are a few main objectives behind making this laboratory for the children. They can learn faster, understand certain tedious matters in a playful atmosphere and also keep them busy with creative work. Simply teaching the children in an abstract manner is not very helpful. Unless children do not see and conduct the tasks on their own, they would not comprehend the activity or the logic behind it. For example, explaining the law of force to small children is not easy. However, the same concept can be explained within minutes with the help of the backyard laboratory. The backyard can have different slopes. Different objects like balls of various sizes can be rolled down the slope. The children see for themselves that the amount of force required for pushing the different balls of different sizes changes. The force required is directly proportional to the size of the ball. This is one of the basic laws in physics, which the children can learn while playing and having fun.

Not just the laws of physics can be learnt in the backyard laboratories. The backyard laboratories can have several kinds of flowering plants and trees. Due to this children can see different types of insects, butterflies, birds and animals frequenting their backyards. Hence, they can learn the characteristics of these animals by actually observing them rather than just read about them in drab books. This makes them learn some very important factors about natural and environmental science.

This makes it clear that the importance of backyard laboratories is immense, especially in homes where there are small children. This would make the children learn some important lessons in life with a smile on their faces.
