Feng shui uses colors to bring a more positive kind of energy into the living space or work area in homes and offices. Feng shui literally means 'wind and water' and deals with placing and arranging of space to enhance natural energy flow for more peace and prosperity. There are eight main directions according to the principles of feng shui; namely south, southwest, southeast, north, northwest, northeast, east and west. Each of these directions also have specific colors assigned to them. Pink and magenta signify contentment. White represents harmony and purity. Green and blue are crisp and cool colors and used in bedrooms and bathrooms for a harmonious effect. However, it is important to remember that the use of any color in excess can result in negative energy as well. Proper consultation and implementation is of prime importance.
