Selecting a site for composting is very necessary. Usually the site of bin compost should be well drained and away from water areas. It should be easily accessible. The depth of the material allows greater air circulation. Bin control or eliminate bad odor and can be managed easily. They also help in keeping away the rodents and pests like raccoons and rats. They are weather protected. They also control all the conditions required for composting like temperature and moisture. If you have more bins then you get the additional advantage of having both quantitative and qualitative compost. This is the best method for farm composting. They also look neat thereby solving your aesthetic crisis.

Disadvantages of bin compost

Bin composting requires high initial investment. It is an active way of composting, meaning that you have to keep monitoring the system from time to time. An ill managed bin compost system can lead to unfinished compost.

However, barring a few disadvantages, bin compost can be the perfect solution for good quality compost.
