Clock Radio
Need for alarms today Clocks have taken on many designs and dimensions in the modern day world. A timing devise is included in almost every electronic gadget available today. Be it a television to switch on or off at preset time or the oven in the kitchen. An alarm clock can be set months in advance to ring out any conceivable sound as an alarm to remind one of a pending job to be completed or started. Radios are a novel way of being reminded of a pending chore or appointment. Almost all models of radios come with built in timing devices. These devices can be preset to switch on the radio to a pre-tuned channel or switch off the radio at a preset time. Types of alarm clocks Modern clock radios feature a radio alarm function as well as a beeping or buzzing alarm, allowing a sleeper to awaken to music or news radio rather than harsh noise such as a ringing of a loud bell which can set off an irritable mood for the day. Alarm clocks also offer a 'snooze button', on the top of the set that stops the alarm and sets it to ring again a short while later, typically anywhere between five and 10 minutes. Some alarm clocks also have a sleep button, which turns the radio on for a set amount of time. All clock radios use an inbuilt battery backup to maintain the time in the event of a power failure. Without this feature, digital clocks will reset themselves incorrectly when power is restored, causing them to fail to trigger the alarm or trigger the alarm at the wrong time.
