Making pottery
Making pot without wheel Pot making is one of the easiest and least required accessory activities. It is even alright if do not fit wheel in your backyard. Pot or various things can be drawn through the clay without wheel. Initially ample amount of clay is required to be soaked properly in the water over a night. This clay is then kneaded properly so that it forms spongy balls. These balls are then flattened on the floor. They are then pilled on one over the other in one corner with proper lid on them so that they do not dry up. After few hours these ball loose some amount of water so that they are thick than before. This makes easy to draw various forms out of them. After they are done, they are supposed to be dried in the sun. Making pot on wheel Initial process of soaking and pilling of flattening would be same as that done without wheels. After the pilled clay looses the excess water, clay is mounted on the wheel. Wheel is then rotated. While the wheel is rotating the clay is drawn in beautiful shapes. Initially the clay is pulled vertically upwards and cylinder like structure is prepared. It is then that the desired structure is prepared through it. The pot is demounted from the wheel. It is kept for drying. After the pot is dried it heated in coal at very high temperature. And at the end of everything it can be beautified with various colors.
